Harriet Hammond, born in 2000, lives in Gravesend and recently graduated with an MAFA from Central Saint Martins. Her work has been featured in several group exhibitions, including Papillon at Dalston Den (2023), OFFPRINT at Tate Modern (2024), and RIPOSTE Dinner Party Rave at Electrowerkz (2024). In 2024, she was also shortlisted for the Cass Art Prize.
Her artistic practice spans sculpture, performance, and video, each infused with a vibrant array of colors, animals, food, bugs, and whimsical, invented characters. Her work explores themes of chaos, hierarchy, nostalgia, consumption, and neurodivergence. She brings her creations to life with intricate details, using only her fingers and a single cocktail stick to shape air-dry clay, then painting and varnishing them to evoke a striking, grotesque wetness.
