Paula Parole (*1992) is a German fine artist based in London.

Her work draws from self-fiction and autotheory, using art to process personal experiences, and explore relationships and internal patterns. She dissects and reinterprets her own stories, questioning ideas around womanhood, destiny, and fairy-tale romance. This reflective process leads to artworks that often evoke a sense of closure, symbolised through simple elements like the smell of incense or the sound of rippling oysters.

Paula’s nostalgic and realistic works often draw from family albums and documenting awkwardly intimate moments, while her "moody girls" act as alter egos humorously reflecting her inner world. A key feature in her practice is the use of eccentric framing, often using mixed media or fluorescent plexiglas, which add an extra layer to the narrative. The particular framing acts as sculptural windows, either enhancing or questioning the subject matter.

Paula Parole holds a BA from the Academy of Fine Art Maastricht, where she specialised in film and graduated with distinction in 2016. After releasing two award-winning short films, she shifted her focus to fine art, while working as for the Boros Collection Berlin.
Since 2020, Paula has been based in London. She earned a Graduate Diploma and a Master of Fine Art, both with distinction, from Chelsea College of Art and Central Saint Martins, UAL - the latter supported by the Mona Hatoum Foundation Scholarship.

Her work has been exhibited across the UK, Netherlands, Germany, and China, including at institutions like TATE Collective, Guts Gallery, Liliya Art Gallery, Filet Gallery, Safehouse Gallery, Hypha Studios,  Bombfactory Art Foundation and Bonian Space, Beijing. She has been a finalist for the Prisma Art Prize, shortlisted for New Contemporaries 2024, and her work has been featured in numerous magazines such as Muse Magazine, ArtUltra, ArtPlugged, FAD Magazine and the Financial Times.
