Holly Reed is a Midlands-based artist and recent BA Fine Art graduate from Loughborough University. Working primarily with ceramics, her practice explores sculptural forms inspired by natural shapes - pebbles, ripples, and soft landforms. At the heart of her work is a fascination with surface and touch; she is drawn to bold forms, colours, and textures that invite physical interaction. This sensitivity to tactility began in childhood, when she collected pebbles and natural objects simply for the pleasure of holding them. Holly discovered ceramics during a year abroad in Michigan, where access to generous facilities allowed her to experiment freely and really get to grips with the possibilities of clay She carried this energy into her final year at Loughborough, focusing on sculptural ceramics and refining surfaces, glazes, and forms with the support of specialist technicians.
Now working from a studio in her garden, Holly continues to explore clay through hand-building and playful experimentation. Alongside her practice, she runs workshops that celebrate the immediacy and joy of making - sharing with others the tactile, grounding qualities that first drew her to the material.
