Phoebe Aucamp is a mixed-media artist and BA Fine Art graduate from Loughborough University. Her practice explores urban environments, drawing on lived experiences and memories of city life. Combining photo transfer, painting, and material manipulation, she creates layered, textural compositions that reflect the complexity and fluidity of cities.
Her series MIND THE GAP, developed during her final year, maps the intersections between architecture, cultural experience, and emotional memory. Influenced by psychogeography, her work highlights the overlooked spaces in cities - the gaps, silences, and shifting surfaces that shape our relationship with urban life. Using found boards and reclaimed canvas, she preserves the material history of a city while repurposing it, creating textured surfaces that echo façades, streets, and urban processes.
Fascinated by how materials carry meaning, Phoebe explores weathered textures, industrial fixings, and construction elements to evoke shared environments and lived experience. Her tactile, immersive work invites viewers to navigate their own connections to urban spaces.
