EDIE TELLE NAKATA
Edie Telle Nakata is a visual artist with interest in the natural, the artificial and the impact of human intervention on the environment. She likes to work with a large variety of materials that she is drawn to due to their texture, form or colour, which are then realised, captured and presented in the form of sculpture, installation and photography. Her relationship towards photography is extremely intuitive and multi-dimensional. It is a medium she often uses to work through ideas, and she sees it as an integral part of her practice.
On reflection, she often sees things through her images, such as subtle imprints of her cultural heritage that are never pre-conceived or purposefully pushed through. She takes inspiration from everything around her and enjoys uncovering new and old ways of learning that inform her practice.
Born and raised in London with a Japanese/ Norwegian background, she currently graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts.
